Rev. Msgr. Walter E. Nolan Pastor
Msgr. Nolan received a BS in Pharmacy from Fordham University, a Masters degree
in Divinity from Pope John University in Massachusetts, and a Masters degree in Pastoral Counseling
from Iona College. He was ordained in 1969.
Since ordination, he has served as Associate Pastor of St. Gregory's, Chaplain and
Athletic Moderator of Notre Dame High School, and Chaplain at Rider University. He later
became Director of Priest's Personnel for the Diocese of Trenton, also serving as the
Diocesan Director of the Continuing Education Committee and President of the Priests' Senate.
He has also been a Tribunal Judge and a Counselor for the Rachel Ministry.
In addition to his duties as our Pastor, he is also host of the Catholic Corner
radio and TV show.

Reverendo Padre Rene Pulgarin
Parochial Vicar
Father Rene was born in Medellin, Columbia, the youngest of three children. His family still resides there.
He graduated in 2004 from Mount St. Mary Seminary in Emmetsburg, MD, spent a year as a Deacon at
Sacred Heart Cathedral in Trenton, and then worked for the diocese until joining St. Paul in 2008.
During his time at the diocese, he was the Director and founder of the Spanish Bible School
program that operates throughout the diocese
and he remains the Coordinator of the Spanish Family Life Program for the diocese. He is
involved with the programs run for and by the Hispanic parishioners at St. Paul in addition
to his other work in the parish. Each October, Fr. Rene coordinates an International Day which
displays the foods and cultures of the many countries from which our parishioners or their ancestors hail.

Paul Lachance Deacon
Deacon Paul was ordained 14 May 1977. He is married (to Therese), and has four children
and eight grandchildren. His academic accomplishments include:
Ph.D. (1960);
D.Sc. (1982);
Clinical Pastoral Education, St. Peter's Medical Ctr. 1978;
Pastoral Counseling (Family Systems) N.Y. Theological Seminary 1980-82.
He is an Annulment Advocate for the Trenton Diocese, a member of the
National Association of Catholic Chaplains, and a trustee of the
Religious Ministries Committee of the Princeton Medical Center as well as an
on-call Chaplain.
Deacon Paul also coordinates the following ministries: Family Counseling and Annulments;
Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers; Hospital Visitors; and Eucharistic Ministers (about 45 lay volunteers)
that constitute the Ministry to the Sick program now in its 25th year.

In Memoriam: Deacon Maurice Benedetti
Deacon Maury, ordained 13 May 1978, was a pioneer in the Diocese of Trenton, becoming one
of the first deacons ordained when then Bishop George W. Ahr established the Deaconate program.
Deacon Maury opened the church every morning at 5:30am and served as Deacon at the 6:45am Mass each day.
He officiated at practically all wake services, assisted at most funerals and officiated at burials.
In addition, he brough Communion to the homebound. His wife Edith died some years ago.
Deacon Maury worked as a mechanic until his retirement, served in the US Army during WW II, and
was a member of the American Legion in addition to his volunteer activities at St. Paul.
This saint of a man is sorely missed.

In Memoriam: Deacon Joseph A. Lynch
Deacon Joe received a BBA from Baruch University and consulted as an investment counselor.
Deacon Joe was ordained 13 May 2000. He coordinated the Loaves and Fishes ministry and
was active in the Bereavement Ministry. He also taught in the Religious Education program.
Deacon Joe was a wonderful, caring man and will be sorely missed.

Joseph Kupin
Deacon
Deacon Joe Kupin grew up just south of Baltimore, Maryland.
His love of the out-of-doors was fed by his many years in Boy Scouting,
where he achieved the rank of eagle scout in 1969. He was taught in grammar school
by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and in high school by Marianist priests and brothers.
He received a B.S. in psychology from the University of Maryland in 1973, and a Ph.D.
in linguistics from the University of Connecticut in 1979. He has been a member
of the parish community since 1980, and was ordained to the permanent
deaconate on May 13, 2006.
Deacon Joe and Jane, his wife of more than thirty years, are members of the
parish teams responsible for the RCIA and Pre-Cana programs in the parish.
Joe also plays guitar in the St. Paul’s Contemporary Ensemble, which supports
the community in song about once per month, usually at the vigil Mass.
He writes a short reflection on the Sunday readings, which appears weekly
in the church bulletin. Joe and Jane are members of a group which does
Bible study based on the Koine Greek text, to which more members are always welcome.
Jane and Joe have two grown daughters. The older daughter, Anna, is a vowed member
of the Sister Servants of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, and is currently
working in Bolivia. Joe and Jane are studying Spanish to try to keep up with her.
The younger daughter, Beth, is pursuing graduate work in Mathematics at Rutgers University.
No way will they keep up with her.

Jim Knipper
Deacon
Jim is President and CEO of J. Knipper and Company, based in Lakewood New Jersey.
In 1981, Jim graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in Chemistry and in 1984 he received a Masters in Business in the Pharmaceutical Industry from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In 1987, using their background in the pharmaceutical industry, Jim and his father, Joe, started their own firm, J. Knipper and Company, providing direct mail and fulfillment exclusively for the healthcare industry. Since that time, the company has continued a steady rate of growth and launched a number of new offerings, now providing a wide range of marketing solutions for the Pharmaceutical industry.
Jim sits on the Board of Trustees for his high school alma mater, Oratory Prep, in Summit New Jersey where he received the 2002 Alumni of the Year award. In addition, Jim is a member of the Board of Trustees for Georgian Court University, the only Catholic University in the Trenton Diocese. This past year, Jim was named to the Board of Trustees of the University of Scranton, one of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the US.
Today, he lives in Princeton with his wife Teresa where he is the proud father of four sons. He is a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Princeton, where upon his ordination in May 2008, serves as a deacon to the parish.
