The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and its Committee on Pro-Life Activities have encouraged the Dioceses of the United States to join in fasting and prayer for a renewed national commitment to the sacredness of all human life from conception through natural death this coming Friday, May 13, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. As Bishop of the Diocese of Trenton, I invite the clergy, religious, and faithful of the Diocese to pray the rosary this Friday, May 13, for this intention. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!
Young men who want to learn more about discerning a vocation to the priesthood are invited to a special event with Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., June 16 located at St. John the Baptist Church, Allentown. The event will begin with Mass celebrated by the Bishop at 5:30 p.m. in the church to which all are welcome to come and pray for an increase of vocations to the priesthood. Following Mass, a barbecue, featuring games, activities and discussions, will be held on church grounds for those interested in discernment. The gathering is being organized by the Diocesan Department of Vocations to provide an opportunity to connect those who may be discerning a call to the priesthood. St. Paul Parish is seeking a full-time director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry. Under the Pastor’s direction, the Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry Program organizes, directs, and coordinates the Parish Religious Education and the Youth Ministry Program and assists the parish community in building a solid foundation for adult spirituality. The DRE conducts and coordinates the parish religious education programs including but not limited to CCD program, preparation for First Communion, and Confirmation, and additional activities related to this minister. Receives direction from the Pastor and exercises control over catechists and staff in the Religious Education and Youth Ministry programs.
